10 Actions To Prepare You For Your Course
1. Book Your Air Travel
Participants are responsible for booking their own air travel to Cancun, Mexico. The airport to fly into is the Cancun International Airport (CUN). Ground transportation from the airport (CUN) to the hotel is included in your course package.
Plan your flights to arrive no later than 5:00pm on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 for course check-in and to attend the Welcome Reception and depart on Monday, November 6th, 2017.
You may add up to 3 nights at either end of your stay at our low group rate. Email our Particpant Success Team for details at: email@example.com
2. Confirm Your Passport Information
You will need a current passport to enter Mexico and, in some cases, you may need a Visa.
U.S. & Canadian citizens must have a valid passport to enter Mexico.
Non-U.S & Non-Canadian citizens will need a valid passport and may need a Visa to enter Mexico.

SPECIAL NOTE: Current means your passport does not expire within 6 months of the start date of your travel.
3. Bring A Guest or Extend Your Stay
Bringing A Guest
You are welcome to bring a guest to Cancun who isn’t participating in the course. The cost for a ‘Non-Course Participant’ Guest is:
- Suites: $2300/guest
- Standard Guest Room: $2000/guest
The cost includes:
- 9 nights accommodation (October 28th – checkout on November 6th)
- The 2 dinner receptions- October 28th & November 5th
- Airport transfers
- Bellman and housekeeping gratuities

Extending Your Stay at The Ritz-Carlton
You may add up to 3 nights at either end of your stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun at our group rate. Email our Participant SuccessTeam for details: firstname.lastname@example.org
4. Reserve Ground Transportation to The Ritz-Carlton
Ground transportation to The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun Resort on arrival, and to the Cancun Airport on departure is included in the cost of your course.
To reserve your transportation between the Cancun Airport and The Ritz-Carlton, we require your flight information.

- how to handle flight delays
- how to find your driver upon arriving at the Cancun Airport
5. Consider Travel Insurance
If for any reason you think you may have to cancel or change your plans, we recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Travelex Insurance Services provides this type of insurance at affordable rates.

6. Join the Pre-Course Webinars
You are invited to join the (optional) Pre-Course Webinars as an opportunity to support your study and engagement with the Pre-Course Readings and Assignments. These webinars are also a good place to get your questions about the material answered and share what is opening up as you engage with the Pre-Course Reading material.

7. Access the Pre-Course Readings & Assignments
The Pre-Course Readings and Assignments are an integral part of the course and serve as the foundation for what happens beginning on Course Day One.
You are required to read this material and complete the assignments before beginning the Course on Sunday, October 29th, 2017.
The Pre-Course Readings & Assignments Page will be accessible here by July 15th, 2017.
8. Review What to Bring
What to bring to your course:
1. A tablet, laptop or smart phone
You will need a device with the capability to access the internet and open PDF files to view assignments and handouts. Also, on a regular basis throughout the course we will provide an electronic link to the slides that have been delivered.
NOTE: No open devices during the course sessions. If you feel it is necessary you may take handwritten notes.
2. Business Casual Attire
The requisite attire for the course room is business to business casual. For leisure time resort casual is appropriate. You may want to bring a clothing layer in case the course room is cool.
9. Plan to Attend the Welcome & Completion Receptions
Participants are encouraged attend to the Welcome Reception on Saturday, October 28th from 7:30pm – 9:30pm (location TBA) for a casual evening to meet and mingle with each other. Light fare will be served.
Following the final course session on Sunday November 5th, join the Farewell Reception from 7:30pm – 9:30pm (location TBA).
10. Review What You Agreed to When Registering
It is can be very easy to click those boxes saying ‘I Agree’ and then forget what we agreed to. You may have noticed by now being a participant of the Being A Leader Course is NOT a normal experience!
In fact we are committed, as the hosts of the course, that everything related to your participation and interaction with the course is an on-the-court opportunity to experience the course material in action. For this reason we thought it would be useful to put the Terms & Conditions agreements (aka your word) in a place that you could see it beyond when you clicked that “I Agree” box.
What follows are the Terms & Conditions you agreed to as a registrant of the course. We recommend you put these in existence for yourself in a way, in which they will be present for you when it comes time to keep your word.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Participants must agree to these Terms & Conditions to complete their registration.
For the purposes of the Being A Leader And The Effective Exercise Of Leadership Course the following Terms & Conditions will be related to as your word.
I have read and understand the refund and transfer policy as stated.*
Refunds will be provided for written or electronic cancellations received by July 30th, 2017. Any refund provided will be less the non-refundable hotel accommodation and registration fee of $2,500.
A one time only transfer of your registration to a new registrant will be accepted up to October 1st, 2017. No refunds or transfers will be provided after the October 1st, 2017 deadline.
I agree to pay any outstanding balance due by July 30th, 2017.
I agree to thoroughly read all email communications from Innovative Event Management (IEM) and will respond to requests regarding my participation in the course and my travel plans.
I agree to read and complete the assigned Pre-Course Reading & Assignments before the course begins, October 29th, 2017. This reading will be approximately 150 pages and will be provided a minimum of 3 months prior to the start of the course.
I agree to complete the Post Course Evaluation within 15 days after the completion of the course,
November 19th, 2017.
*We recommend you purchase travel interruption insurance. A link to a comprehensive plan has been provided at the bottom of your confirmation page. This plan will cover 100% of your trip costs including the tuition portion in the event you cancel due to unforeseen personal circumstances. We recommend that you purchase Travel Insurance to cover any unforeseen changes to your travel plans.

Something Important to Know
About this Course
Given what we are promising you from your participation in the Leadership Course, plan to be free of any outside obligations. During each break (including the lunch break, the evenings and the non-session days) there will be assignments for you to complete individually and/or with your group. As a result, please plan to reserve the entire day and a portion of the evening of each class day, and a portion of the days between the two 3-day class sections of the course.
The course is challenging, and will require a good deal of intellectual effort on your part inside and outside the classroom. Given all of the foregoing, it will support you in realizing the promise of the course if you think about it as a leadership intensive – something well beyond the average classroom experience.
Additional Note About the Program
While items of a personal nature are openly discussed throughout this course, we rely on you to maintain respect for each participant regardless of the material that is shared. Furthermore, consistent with professional business conduct and current United States laws, the Instructors do not tolerate any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, in our programs.
